Another year of Best Ever festivals! National Women’s Music Festival in the Madison, WI area celebrated 47 years of women’s music, community, and culture! Reconnected with long time friends played music with new friends, heard some new artists, new music, bonded with Diedre McCalla, had breakfast with Holly Near, got to give back as the Ukulele Chorus Director and provided an opportunity for my 12 year old guitar student to perform at the festival open mic! It was a great experience for all! I made a good effort to promote Go Sistah Go and even got sound bytes from several artists you’ll be hearing soon!
Onto Girls Rock Camp Madison where I’ll be teaching guitar in the morning and coaching a band in the afternoon! 10 bands will each write an original song, record it in a professional recording studio, and perform it at a gig in front of happy, screaming fans and fam! This will be my 4th year as a session staffer (including a virtual year).
After GRC, I go to The Land in Michigan and teach and perform at WPI – Women Play Instruments Festival and join Renee Janski on her mainstage Big Mouth Girl set.
I hope you are having a fun, safe, and eventful summer. Safe travels and good health to you all!
