Performing Arts Fridays at Ann Brown Memorial School is an interactive, performance based program encompassing singing, dancing, musical instruments, and theatre. After a 3 hour series of workshops, the participants will perform for parents and family on the theme of each Friday.
This program is offered to kids 5-12 years old and is geared toward home school groups and alternative learning environments. Please pack your child’s favorite snack. A beverage will be provided.
Performing Arts Fridays will offer 10 classes this semester from September 7 through November 9, 2018. Each day is from 9am (may drop off after 8:30am) until 12:30 with a performance at 12:15. Sign up for a few or many (2 class minimum) as each day is it’s own experience and unique performance.Cost is $40 per class per child. To register, email performingartsfridays@gmail at least 4 days in advance of each class. Payments can be made by paypal.me, cash or check to Jori Costello. Prepayment is not necessary but welcome. 2237 S. School, Fayetteville, AR 72703 on the west side of the street. The little 2 story yellow schoolhouse 4 doors past Cato Springs. Parking is in the back of the building. Please use caution when going in and out of the single driveway.
Led by actor, Jules Taylor and musician, Jori Costello; both women offer a myriad of professional and educational experience. As a rostered Arkansas Arts Council Teaching Artist, Jules has taught and directed youth theatre at Arts Live Theatre for almost 15 years. She is also a Trike Theatre Artist, acting in Digging Up Arkansas: teaching AR history thru theatre and music to grade schools. She has performed in every county in Arkansas, and will soon perform in her 500th show. She is Ms. Jules of SHAKY BUGS, performing to the under 5 crowd in a song&dance extravaganza! Jules is a team member of Phunbags Comedy Improv and a company member of Ceramic Cow Productions. Represented by Actor’s Casting Agency, she can be seen in the films Gordon Family Tree, Valley Inn, and others. She is also on the board of the Fayetteville Film Fest.
Jori Costello is a local award winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, performer, playwright, and teacher. She is well known for her part in the nationally touring band, Big Bad Gina, and in the art rock duo, Jorian Oxygen which grew out of The Jori Costello Band. Her one woman musical tribute, Songs of My Soul, has been featured at 5 regional festivals and venues. For Trike Theatre, she was the Music Director for Digging Up Arkansas and the role of “Musician” in Cowboy in the Kitchen. For AR Staged, she created original soundscape for An Old Woman Speaks as well as for the upcoming Smokehouse Players production of Talking With. Jori teaches private lessons in multiple instruments, is a session staffer at Girls Rock Camp Madison, a creator of a summer camp music program, and most recently a Music Mentor for Ann Brown Memorial School.
